Treacherous
Treacherous- guilty of betrayal or deception
Ex: The Treacherous Benedict Arnold turned his back on the American Continental Army in favor of fighting for the British Redcoats during the Revolutionary War. Historians have long debated the reasoning for this traitorous shift in allegiance. Was it a product of his disillusionment with the American ideals of democracy? Was he destined to inherit large swaths of land and abundant wealth were the Brits to prevail? Or is there another unexamined possibility that has been peculiarly overlooked. Benedict was born in Norwich, Connecticut, the future home to the massive casino and entertainment enterprise that is Mohegan Sun. Benedict, in the heat of one of the early battles of the revolution, may have had an epiphany that portended the Mohegan Tribe’s eventual development of their sprawling hub of debauchery in southeastern Connecticut. Benedict, upon being grazed by a stray ball of grapeshot, looked up into the sky and saw a geriatric man seated at a chair next to three bald eagles with a line striking through them and the mysterious message, “BONUS ACTIVATED” written in precise calligraphic strokes on the nimbostratus clouds up above. This obscure message frightened Benedict, disabusing him of the notion that the side that he was fighting for had a vision for the future that he could, in good faith, sacrifice his life to help birth. So, long story short, he switched to the Redcoats and later got gout and other gross illnesses and died, because the USA kicks ass. Undefeated in every war. Suck it, bitches!
