Tempestuous- prone to mood swings, turbulent emotion
Ex: They had a tempestuous relationship that ranged from amicable, idyllic inseparability to ruthless, spiteful verbal abuse. The good times were often brought about by successes in the workplace or their children reaching developmental milestones. The bad times were almost always a result of his unhealthy obsession with cured meats. One day, she came home from work, opened the fridge, and a 25 pound stick of Genoa Salami rolled out and fell onto her feet, shattering six of her toes. When her husband returned home soon after, he found her writhing on the floor in pain. She told him to call an ambulance. He told her not to worry, as he opened up the freezer and pulled out some links of frozen kielbasa. “Here, use this ice pack to reduce the swelling” He said. “The only thing preventing me from moving forward with this divorce is the inevitable mental damage it will cause to our children” she replied.
Sophist- someone whose reasoning is subtle and often fallacious
Ex: “She’s a sophist for sure. Did you hear her argument for how to address global warming? Installing air conditioning units in every single room in every single building on earth? I don’t think you should keep seeing this girl, Michael. Yes, I’ll admit, she does have a figure that’ll make the boys back home salivate out of their ears, turn their cars on just to sit in their driveways, and look up at the stars to try to locate the Camelopardalis constellation, but she’s got the brain of a dodo!”
It’s all about the looks I guess for some people. Not me, too deep for that noise here. 🥷
