Recapitulate- to summarize or restate
Ex: He used the laser pointer to direct focus to the final slide of his presentation.
“So, to recapitulate, I am not saying that Jonah Hill used to be better because he was fat. This is not a Samson getting super strength from his hair situation. All I’m saying is that, objectively, he was a better actor and person when he was fat. I’m not trying to prove causation here, I’m just making a claim given the evidence we have available. When he was fat: Superbad, Wolf of Wall Street. Now that he’s skinny: emotionally abusive text message leaks and You People”
Pithy- having substance and point; brief but conveying a lot of meaning
Ex: My Great Depression era pull string doll offered up such pithy sayings as, “Put a wife to work in the kitchen, that’ll shut up her bitchin!” or, “A kid in the factory is worth two in the school!” and finally, “Horizontal integration took your job away? Murder a gypsy in cold blood, it’ll make you feel better and plus, nobody will really care!”
