Perquisites- a perk; a benefit; a privilege
Ex: One of the perquisites of his job was a two-week all-inclusive stay at the company’s luxury retreat deep in the Rocky Mountains at a place ominously titled The Overlook Lodge. This was not to be confused with the Overlook Hotel from The Shining, although the two did bear great resemblance in both name and appearance. The elevators at the Lodge weren’t filled with blood, unless you count a few drops from Greg’s nose after his coke binge during last year’s holiday party, nor was the Lodge capable of causing vivid hallucinations of ghosts of people that had been killed in the Lodge in years prior. There were, however, some creepy twins in the hallway late at night. They weren’t possessed though, they were just the CFO Wesley’s deaf, blind, and dumb insomniac twin daughters who would roam the halls during their sleepless episodes, scaring the living shit out of the other coworkers staying at the Lodge.
Obstreperous- difficult to deal with and noisy
Ex: The obstreperous toddler had a mobile installed above his crib that played the opening guitar riff from “Enter Sandman” whenever he fiddled with it. His dad was glad that he was now at least able to channel his son’s restless fidgeting into some kick-ass background noise for the house. He no longer grumpily stumbled out of his bed in a daze to check on his son in the middle of the night. Rather, he leapt out from under his covers, with considerable pep in his step, and head-banged the whole way down the long carpeted upstairs hall. It seemed like the perfect purchase until he realized that he may have inadvertently traumatized his son by bursting into his room and screaming, “EXIT LIGHT, ENTER NIGHT! TAKE MY HAND, WE’RE OFF TO NEVER-NEVER LAND!”
I am not sure how you del team these definitions up but they are just superb.
