Perfunctory, Disabuse, Sagacious
Perfunctory- cursory, done with no effort
Ex: He gave a perfunctory waive of his hand to the gym acquaintance. Although the bros had been watching each other incline press from afar for years now, they had rarely shared a conversation about life outside the iron palace.
Disabuse- cause someone to no longer have a wrong idea; to correct
Ex: He thought all rectangles were squares, but the math teacher disabused him of that idea. 12th grade was a little late to just be learning that concept. Every night the teacher prayed to the lord above to be smitten with white hot rods of compressed hell fire. Oh, the perpetual suffering he would endure to be freed from the waking nightmare of his shit-ass godforsaken high school.
Sagacious- showing acute and farsighted powers of judgement
Ex: The idea to keep church and state separate was a sagacious one. Thankfully, our forefathers had the foresight to prevent the Westboro Baptist Church- Publicans from forming as a political entity. Their proposed “Jew-gay-black reservations” would have undoubtedly provoked some outcry throughout the country. Althouughhhhh…their musical theater department’s performance of Jabari and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat would have garnered some serious Tony buzz!
