Officious
Officious- aggressive in offering unwanted advice; annoyingly assertive
Ex: We all have that one officious neighbor who seems to always come out from his house the second he sees you cleaning out the gutters, fixing your lawnmower, or examining something under the hood of your car. *Cut to- David, opening a toolbox in his garage while talking to his wife next to him* “Honey, could you bring that weed whacker over he…wait, what is it? Is he walking over? He’s walking over right now? It’s been 30 fucking seconds! Does he just stare out his kitchen window all day waiting for me to come out here?” *Hugh, the officious neighbor, walks into the garage* David, staring down at his feet dejectedly, in almost a whisper, “Hey there Hugh” Hugh, impervious to David’s (and everyone else’s) clear annoyance with his assaultive handy-man suggestions, “Well howdy there David! Looks like you’re going to want an Allan wrench for this one! It’ll be an easy fix, I’ve done this a million times before.” “Hugh, I’m just going to stop you right there. This *points to Hugh and back to himself* can’t happen anymore. You can’t just weasel your way in here whenever I’m working on something. So please, just leave. I was literally reaching for the Allen wrench. I know what I’m doing.” *Hugh’s lip is now trembling, he looks as if someone just told him Lowes stopped carrying Husqvarna products* “But, but David. You can’t do this to me. This is all I HAVE. I’m NOTHING without this. NOTHINGGGGGG” *Hugh crumples to his knees and begins to bawl* “David! Open up that toolbox and give me a hammer or something!” *Hugh cradles the hammer and begins to stroke it*, whispering, “We’ll be alright. As long as we have our tools, we’ll be all right. Ain’t that right, hammy?”
