Miasma, Turbidity

Miasma- an unpleasant vapor emanating from something

Ex: A miasma of days-old pernil, hair gel, and Henny and Hypnotiq permeated the alleyway in Spanish Harlem.

Turbidity- the quality of being cloudy or hazy

Ex: I like to drink the water from my bathroom tap despite its turbidity. In those moments I choose to ignore modern revelations about the pernicious effects of trace chemicals and instead think of the cloudy, sulfuric liquid as a vitality potion. The more of the hazy liquid I consume, the more fearsome I may be in battle, and the more I’ll be able to contribute to the Gauls’ barbaric quest to sack Rome.
