Intractable, Recalcitrant, Augur
Intractable- stubborn, not giving easily to change
Ex: Marv’s stance on finance was intractable, he wouldn’t budge. “Yea yea, I hear a lot of talk about this AI bullshit. So what? You’re telling me these robots are gonna take my job and jerk me off at the same time? Get outta here!” Marv then proceeded to dump all of his money into a limited NFT collection titled “Edu-heroes” featuring icons of the education space dressed as various marvel superheroes. He managed to mint a 1 of 1 Malala Yousafzai as The Black Widow, but the collection’s value plummeted irrecoverably.
Recalcitrant- stubbornly uncooperative, rebellious
Ex: The recalcitrant toddler refused to sleep during nap time. The crafty teacher pondered the questionable ethics of slipping a Xanax into the child’s sippy cup. Oh, the things he would do for a couple minutes of peace and quiet.
Augur- predict future events
Ex: The poll results seemed to augur the politician being elected. Apparently, his campaign slogan, “Elect me, why the fuck not?” really struck a chord with the general populace. What exactly did he stand for? Nobody quite knew, but his give-no-shits attitude and all-around apathy made him quite the popular figure in rural Wyoming. “Them school educated folks just don’t know how to relate to the common man!” Opined Franklin Dickenschitz, 53, of Wamsutter.
