Hubris- Excessive Pride or self-confidence
Gone were the days of hubris that Chip and Dale Rescue Rangers occupied in the 1990s.
Now part of the jilted generation of animation, overtaken by movie star voice casts and CGI, the Rescue Rangers sat in their downtown offices, waiting for the fax to whir or pagers to bleep.
Our duo’s waistlines expanded as fast as their client list receded, another cartoon victim of a modern society that favoured a catchy soundtrack over fast-talking rodents. But wait, what’s this?
Suddenly, a red light flashes in the pocket of Dale’s button-popping Hawaiian shirt as his pager signals a new client. All is not lost. Chip raises himself awkwardly from the sofa, places his fedora on his head, and waddles over to see the new pager message.
A signal of brighter times?
Thanks again for letting me do this, loved writing it.
Ha! This looks like it was a lot of fun to write! :)
