Exegesis
Exegesis- critical explanation of a text (especially of scripture)
Ex: Tired from a long day of biblical exegesis in the Yeshiva, Mordecai put on his Under Armour yarmulke and walked across the street over to the weed-infested sandlot style baseball field. Too enervated to play the field, Mordecai volunteered to be the designated hitter, a tribute to Ron “Boomer” Blomberg, the former Yiddish Yankee and first DH in Major League Baseball history. The first pitch that Mordecai saw that day was a meatball, an all-beef meatball of course (keep it kosher!), which Mordecai smacked over the right field fence and over the mechitza separating the male and female prayer areas, the ball landing right on the opening passage to parashat Chayei Sarah (The Life of Sarah) as Esther read from the Torah for the first time.
