No amount of pirate-themed mini golf and banana splits could wash away the memory of unlocking the motel room door for the first time and pushing it open to reveal three identical twin size racecar beds with Danny DeVito themed bedding.

Conflation- combining to or more separate things together, usually erroneously

Ex: Sorry honey but I think you must have conflated my love of ties with my love of all things pickled. I could have accepted a tie with little dancing gherkins on it. Hell, I would have loved it.
