Desiccate, Vacillate, Capricious
Desiccate- to dry up; lose moisture
Ex: The Granger family had perhaps bitten off more than they could chew by signing up for the extreme survival camping experience. The first sign that they were in over their heads was when River, their instructor, told them matter-of-factly that he had found some bear droppings that he was waiting to desiccate before throwing them into his trail mix for a little fiber-packed crunch.
Vacillate- to sway between different opinions
Ex: Dr. Bruce vacillated over whether or not the dress was blue and black or gold and white. “Dr. Bruce, he’s losing blood quickly, we need to get him stitched up right now! Dr. Bruce, are you on your phone right now!?”
Capricious- given to change; unpredictable
Ex: The capricious nature of the menu made Gina hesitant to go back to the bistro. On her first visit, she noticed some familiar favorites: penne alla vodka, veal marsala. She didn’t know what drugs the chef was experimenting with, but when she returned a second time, she was baffled as to what the dishes, and their fantastical descriptions, could possibly entail. *Gina reading from the menu* “Snap, Crackle, and Pop’s long-lost fourth brother, Kichel, who was wounded in the raid on Entebbe: a jovial celebration of hummus in the breakfast offerings of contentious Middle-Eastern neighbor states.”
