Autocratic, Elocution
Autocratic- relating to a leadership or government style in which one person has all the power
Ex: In Kim Jong Un’s autocratic regime you are demanded to worship him as a godlike entity. He wants to be seen as simply the best at everything: the most superior athlete, the most gifted military strategist, the brightest mind in the universe, etc. And yet, there is one area in which he doesn’t wish to be seen as greater-than, and that would be arts & crafts, which he associates with homosexuality. Now you could never get his royal guards to admit to it, for fear of their lives, but there have been times when they have barged into Kim Jong Un’s office and they swear they have seen him hurriedly packing away scrapbooking supplies and wavy decorative scissors into the cabinet marked “top secret- nukes and other manly shit, don’t open”
Elocution- the art of effective public speaking
Ex: One of the tips you always hear associated with elocution is to imagine your audience fully naked before giving a talk. Apparently, this is supposed to make you feel comfortable. I found this advice wildly ineffective when giving my speech at the Phoenix burn victim support group annual conference. Let me replay for you exactly how that went. “Greetings folks, glad to see everyone’s smiling faces and HORRIBLY DISFIGURED BODIES. OH! THE SCARRING! THE DEAD PATCHES! THE SKIN GRAFTS! MY EYES, THEY BURN! THEY BURN LIKE YOUR CRISPY TOASTED TORSOS! MAKE IT STOPPPPPP!!!!!”
