Alacrity- cheerful willingness; a happy eagerness to do something
Ex: “Yes, Jessica, of course I will drop you off at your house after class!”, answered Ken with alacrity. Ken turned into Jessica’s driveway and was greeted with a huge banner reading, “PARTY OF THE CENTURY. GUARANTEED TO MAKE PROJECT X LOOK LIKE CHILDS PLAY”. Ken’s mood ebbed swiftly as Jessica turned to him and said, “don’t get any ideas, thanks for the ride, my school brother”. School brother. The words rung in his head like a pounding migraine. School brother. He had been friend-zoned in the past, but never school brother-zoned.
Paucity- scarcity in number; a lack of something
Ex: How did the coaches expect Frankie, the chubby chubster homerun hitter on the little league squad, to play a mean first base with a paucity of big league chew? They should know that little fat boy Frankie demands a fresh fat wad of big league chew to be crammed into his fat face in between every inning.
Amalgamate- to combine together into a single entity
Ex: The three family-owned doughnut shops in the area decided to amalgamate in order to compete against big doughnut. Ever since Dunkin came out with their molly-infused Boston cream “Go-Nuts”, buying any regular old doughnut from any other store just didn’t interest most folks.
