Acquisitive- excessively interested in acquiring money; greedy
Ex: I’m sick and tired of these acquisitive landlords and the utterly ridiculous fees and stipulations they hide in the fine print of every lease agreement. What the hell is a, “Do you really care about me?” fee? Are you the landlord from The Big Lebowski? Do you want me to attend your ballet recital? And don’t get me started on the line, “If I smell something good being cooked up on your stove, I can come in and have a little taste”. No, you will not be having a little taste! You’re not Alton Brown in an episode of Iron Chef. And this, this one down at the bottom in tiny print, does that say, “$100 fee for poop cam installation?” Now that’s just crass (send me the footage and I’ll look the other way).
Blithe- showing a casual indifference considered to be callous
Ex: Do Chinese food restaurant owners have a blithe disregard for their customers with those faded ass pictures of the food hanging up above the counter? I think that’s General Tso’s. But it could be lo mein. I actually don’t even think those are really color photographs. I suspect they are autochromes, the predecessor to modern color photography. It doesn’t matter how new the Chinese takeaway spot is, it will always feature an antediluvian fossil of a menu suspended up above an elementary-aged child grinding through his times tables inside an eggroll-scented cloud.
